Externship Program

Our externship program provides real-world experience working with patients and ensures that graduates will be confident and competent in their new careers upon graduation. The externship portion of the course provides students the opportunity to observe and work in a dental office under the guidance of trained professionals. Students will be eligible to start their 40-hour externship after Class 6. An Externship Coordinator will work with the students to place the in dental offices based on the schedules of the student and the office.

What do I Get After Graduation?

Students who graduate from Tyler Dental Assistant School receive their Dental Assistant Certificate of Completion from our school.

Additionally, students receive their BLS (CPR) certification in class through the American Heart Association.

After graduating from our program you will apply for your RDA license on your own time. Once you are licensed you will be called a Registered Dental Assistant.

The Tyler Dental Assistant School is licensed and regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC).

We have dedicated Career Service Representatives to help you find your dream job!

Although we encourage our students to find their own externships, our externship coordinators are here to help our students identify potential opportunities in the area and assist with applications.
